VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Overnight Hospitalist Veterinarian to join our AAHA-accredited, 40-doctor, 24-hour Specialty/General Practice/Emergency hospital located in the picturesque foothills of Loomis, California.
This is an opportunity to practice at a successful and reputable VCA hospital in one of the most desirable areas in California!
VCA Loomis Basin has specialists in internal medicine, critical care, cardiology, oncology, radiology and surgery. We are ready to welcome another member of our medical team to help provide exceptional veterinary care to the Loomis and surrounding communities.
Our facility provides a dynamic working environment with a stellar support staff, including a skilled team of licensed and unlicensed technicians, dedicated technician assistants, attentive doctors’ assistants, and helpful client service representatives. We have all of the latest diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment needed to support the specialty services, including a CT, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, scoping capabilities (endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy), electronic medical records, Class IV therapy laser, and more. In addition, VCA Loomis Basin has a strong internship program, and all of our doctors play an integral role in their education and clinical development.
Loomis is located in Northern California at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The area abounds with recreational and cultural opportunities and is within an easy drive to ski resorts, trails for hiking, mountain bike or horseback riding, lakes and rivers, and the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco.
The overnight ICU Hospitalist will provide high level in patient care and allow our overnight emergency doctors to focus on critical cases in the ER and outpatient receiving. Hospitalist will be expected to help receive ER cases when able (i.e. depending on in-hospital caseload and stability of patients). Two to three ICU technicians are available for the hospitalist to administer treatments and provide additional support. The hospitalist supervises the implementation of treatment plans created by the criticalist and medically manages changes in patient status during overnight hours.
The optimal candidate has an interest in critical care case management. Those with an interest in contributing to a critical care department should strongly consider this position. This is a unique opportunity for an emergency veterinarian or primary care veterinarian to bypass the more stressful aspects of client-centric veterinary medicine while working alongside specialists to grow their skills in intensive case management.
VCA Loomis Basin offers a competitive salary without the pressure of production goals, provides access to high caliber equipment, and fosters an inclusive and respectful hospital culture. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $210,000. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.
Taking care of the future of veterinary medicine starts with taking care of our associates! As a member of the VCA family, eligible full-time employees will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including: Benefits, Health & Well-Being
Innovative associate health and well-being department (Headspace app subscriptions, Fidelity financial wellness tool, and access to additional mental health resources).
