Do you want to practice high-quality, compassionate equine veterinary medicine as a valued member of a friendly and supportive team? If your answer is “Yes!”, then the Charlottetown Veterinary Clinic has an opportunity for you, as one of our 3 full-time associate equine ambulatory veterinarians.
Our practice in Charlottetown, P.E.I. serves a thriving Standardbred racing and breeding industry, complemented by an active sport and pleasure horse population. With this extensive patient base within a convenient distance from our clinic, our equine veterinarians can fully utilize the wide range of their clinical skills. We provide reproductive services for over 200 broodmares and their foals. We do emergency service, performance evaluations, lameness work, pre-purchase exams and lots of preventive medicine.
A fully equipped practice vehicle is provided. Our equine veterinarians can use power floats, digital radiography, ultrasonography, video endoscopy and shockwave therapy. We have a ship-in facility for minor procedures and the nearby Atlantic Veterinary College is available for referrals or hospitalizations.
Our ideal new team member will be motivated and self-directed with a positive attitude and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An interest in reproductive and sports medicine is a requirement. The ability to do, or to learn large animal emergency work in cattle is a definite asset. New graduates are welcome as you will be working in a collaborative environment with mentorship available.
We offer a competitive salary, based on experience, with 3 weeks of paid vacation and a weekly afternoon off. After Hours Emergency Coverage is shared equally among our large animal veterinarians. There is also a clothing allowance and a generous discount policy. Your cell phone, Continuing Education and licensing fees are all covered. An optional health plan and RRSP program are available.
